Sweden is to subject two GlobalEye AEW&C plane from 2027. (Saab)
Bombardier has delivered to Sweden the primary of two International 6000 airframes for conversion to the GlobalEye airborne early warning and management (AEW&C) configuration for the Swedish Air Drive (SwAF).
The enterprise jet producer introduced on 19 July that the plane, which is the primary for the SwAF however the sixth for the broader GlobalEye programme, had been delivered to Saab’s Linköping facility in Sweden from its Toronto manufacturing plant in Canada.
Information of the supply got here 13 months after the Swedish authorities contracted Saab in June 2022 to ship two GlobalEye plane, with the choice for 2 extra. The SEK7.3 billion (USD712 million) order will see the 2 plane to interchange the SwAF’s two ageing Saab 340 (ASC 890) Erieye platforms delivered in 2027.
